The Book Link plugin lets you update your book's template and element definitions via an FTP connection. This tool is designed for writers working in a distributed or teleworking environment where drive-mapping is not possible.
Features
- The plugin contains a simple FTP client that allows you to retrieve and import formats from a FrameMaker file stored on an FTP server. From the intuitive dialog box, you can specify the FTP connection and communication parameters, file location, and transfer type.
- You can specify if the template update is carried out against any components selected in the book catalog, or every component in the book. If your book is structured, you can also import element definition information from the template file into the project.
- The Book Link dialog box is based upon the native FrameMaker Import Formats feature and lets you specify which template formats you want to import or remove.
- After the tool has finished updating the target book, the FTP address, port, login, and template path values are stored and displayed as the defaults the next time the tool is used. Note that password field is not stored.
