Windows users who want to ensure that their plugins are up to date will benefit from the Zenserve Messenger feature. This component resides in the system tray of the Windows toolbar and checks our web site for software updates:
When a new version of the plugin is detected, you are informed by an unobtrusive speech-balloon style tool-tip.If you click on the message inside the tool-tip, the plugin is silently updated and the new version is used the next time you start FrameMaker.
Zenserve Messenger is built into each plugin and does not require standalone installation or configuration. This component does not send us any information, and only retrieves the most current version of the plugin from our web site. An example notification is shown below:
Note: This feature is only available to Windows 2000 and XP users, and notifications only take place if you are connected to the Internet.
